Learn more about UK Webmaster World SEO Contest 2008

On the 1st of Feb 08 UK Webmaster World has launched a SEO contest which is open for everyone.
Most importantly its free to participate, you just need a registration and add a html code to your site. It didn't take me more than a minute. The contest allow 300 participants and I guess i must be the 209th candidate. I register myself after f***ing 18 days. I manage to borrow a site from a friend, created a new page immediately for this seocontest2008 upload it. I resumit his Google xml sitemap with the new url but my page is not index yet. Forget about being on the result page but I doubt if I can manage to get on the 10th result page! Anyways its a great feeling and I can well prepare for next year as this is my 1st attempt. WHO said DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME????

Here comes the exciting part - the winner will receive $1000 and each 3 runners up will get $100.
I am planning to donate it for Linux Manipur, a voluntary organization dedicated for education of poor students below poverty line. They have done a good job, I appreciate the team for their humble contribution towards the organization and Manipur as a whole in spite of their tight schedules.

Rules & Regulations (which I respect)
  • You may use a domain, folder, or sub domain as your optimized page with one criterion. The page must be brand new, no backlins no cached version
  • Every optimisation techniques are allowed except cloaking, and hiding text. We will periodically compare the optimised pages with their cached version in order to discover the cloackers, hence we kindly ask you to avoid using any kind of noarchive meta tag
  • No multiple entries are allowed - ONE URL per forum member
  • Participants are allowed to change URL but with the same requirements - at the moment of registration new url can not have any cashed version or incoming links. Old URL will be removed from database and no longer allowed to be used.
